12 things to know about Jung Sky
Although we are an airline company founded 14 years ago, late November 2009 to be precise, and have been part of the business aviation industry since 2011, it is not rare we receive questions like “how many aircrafts do you have”, “what type of jets are they”, “which routes do you fly”, “where are you based”, “do you have your own pilots” etc.
Of course, this is something perfectly understandable.
First of all, not everyone is (well) acquainted with business aviation. Second of all, the business aviation market is so immense and diverse that, no matter how often we communicate facts and details about us and our flight operations, it is not realistic to expect everyone will remember everything.
Even with the brokers, our main clientele. It is impossible for them to remember every single little detail about us or any other business aviation operator.
So, in the spirit of getting to know us a little bit better or just establishing some facts that could be of service to you - our clients, current or potential, here are 12 things to know about Jung Sky:
(1) BEGININGS
We are a business aviation operator, founded in 2009 and based in Zagreb, Croatia. We are privately owned.
(2) FLEET
Our fleet currently consists of three C525 CJ2 jets, with the capacity of six passenger seats in each aircraft. More information and pictures can be found on THE FLEET INFO & GALLERY page.
(3) RANGE & FLIGHT OPS AREA
The range of our aircraft is about 2,500 km (1,400 nautical miles) which allows non-stop flights to most destinations in Europe and across the Mediterranean, including northern parts of Africa. We do not fly anywhere outside the previously mentioned geographical territory.
(4) TEAM & CREW
Jung Sky currently consists of 28 people, including ten pilots. If you would like to know more about our people, feel free to visit our TEAM PAGE. There are no flight attendants on board, it is impossible to have them because of the size of the aircraft.
(5) PILOT EXPERIENCE
Our pilots are carefully selected. They undergo regular reviews and professional training at the world’s best training centres and are tested every six months in a special simulator preparing them for every situation imaginable.
(6) OPERATIONAL CONTROL CENTER
We have our own operational control centre / flight dispatch department enabling us to optimize the flight planning & preparation process.
(7) FLIGHTS
In the last couple of years, Jung Sky has been performing between 1,100 and 1,300 flights per year. To be more precise, last year (2022) we have performed 1,246 flights*, positioning + pax, which was a 7 percent increase compared to 2021.
*With two jets in the fleet.
(8) AIRPORTS & COUNTRIES
On a yearly basis, Jung Sky crews land on more than 200 airports in approx. 40 different countries.
(9) TOP DESTINATIONS
Last year (2022), the top 10 destinations visited by our fleet were Rome, London, Nice, Naples, Zurich, Milan, Palma de Mallorca, Split, Venice, and Dubrovnik. Of course, the ‘popularity’ of a certain city or region depends on which time of the year it is. During winter, ski destinations and airports in the Alps gain momentum. In autumn and early spring, business centres are a more frequent choice. After that, the warmer and sunnier it gets, the more we start to fly to seaside destinations.
(10) CERTIFIED AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ORGANISATION
Alongside being a business aviation operator, which is our core business, Jung Sky is also a certified aircraft maintenance organisation, able to meet any line maintenance requirements for jet types Cessna 525, 525A and 525B. We currently have two line maintenance stations, one at LDZA Zagreb and the other one at LDVA Varazdin.
(11) SOCIAL MEDIA
Besides our official webpage, there are couple of more channels where you can find all sorts of interesting and cool information about Jung Sky: Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Feel free to follow, comment, share or give us feedback about our service.
